Clinical Trials in Australia

Roche reinvests approximately 18% of total sales for all products into research and development.  This currently equates to around $4 billion per year world-wide.  Of this, 35% is dedicated to oncology research, which is roughly the proportion of Roche’s current business which comes from this field.

Australia is recognised for its sizable contribution to enrolment to global clinical trials.  While only around 1% of the world’s population resides in Australia, we contribute around 10% of participants to Roche clinical trials world-wide.

In recognition of this, Australia has recently been established as a global headquarters for co-ordinating Roche international clinical trials.  This is extremely exciting as it will result in an increased number of international clinical trials being placed in Australia, and will allow more Australians early access to new treatments.

Currently in Australia, Roche supports a combination of international, and local investigator-driven trials, phases I-IV.   Click on the list below for more details of the trials being run in each disease area.
