Worldwide Lymphoma Awareness Day

The first Worldwide Lymphoma Awareness Day (WLAD) took place on 15th September 2004.

Roche worked closely with The Leukaemia Foundation, the Lymphoma Support and Research Association, and local clinicians to co-ordinate and fund a number of activities aimed at highlighting the rapidly increasing incidence of lymphomas around the world and the lack of funding for the disease in Australia.

In addition to sponsoring lymphoma education meetings in every state, Roche also commissioned a Report entitled “The Real Issue. An overview of lymphomas in Australia,” which was written by Australian specialists, endorsed by the Leukaemia Foundation, and launched on WLAD.

The day was a huge success with phenomenal media coverage received.  We look forward to WLAD being even bigger and better in 2005!
